This home was on the verge of quite literally collapsing because the original contractors hired for this project left it void of an essential structural support system. We called in a structural engineer to pinpoint exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. Once we determined the solution was to jack up and enforce the ground floor, we began construction. We poured new footings, reinforced existing metal columns, and created more stabilized support systems using LVL beams. After re-enforcing the entire house, we took to designing the space, which needed to accommodate a play area, media room, laundry closet, and storage place. The solution included a porcelain tile floor which looks identical to hardwood with the waterproof resilience necessary for a basement. We also repainted, installed beautiful new recessed lighting and built an ongoing theme of new crown molding.
